Forex: U.S. markets rise on the back of the confidence of American consumers
U.S. markets surged with the rise in U.S. consumer confidence, revealing an improvement in appetite, pointing to higher than the previous 55.2 reading in December to 64.5, above the expectations of 58.5. The Dow Jones industrial average registered rate reached 0.13% as SP 500 index rose by 0.19% as well as the Nasdaq Composite rose 1.19%. The indicators may have risen in part, up crude oil futures contracts rose above $ 100 already.
